- Perform clerical tasks such as faxing, photocopying, and filing.
- Verify and update patient information while maintaining confidentiality.
- Complete necessary forms accurately for patient records.
- Uphold patient rights and privacy during interactions.
- Foster positive relationships with physicians and nursing staff to enhance collaboration.
- Report any issues or equipment concerns to the Nurse Manager promptly.
General Duties:
- Demonstrate proficiency in scheduling and booking various medical procedures.
- Coordinate with external vendors and services as required.
- Understand and facilitate the submission of necessary documentation for hospital processes.
- Assist in the collection of pre-admission testing data.
- Maintain office supplies and equipment, ensuring a well-functioning workspace.
- Provide training and support to fellow office staff.
- Log surgical procedures accurately.
- Manage the scheduling system effectively, including rescheduling and cancellations.
- Exhibit excellent customer service skills to alleviate patient concerns.
- Communicate repair needs to appropriate personnel.
- Exercise sound judgment in scheduling to optimize physician productivity.
- Be knowledgeable about fire safety and emergency protocols.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree preferred.
- Certification in Heartsaver CPR within 30 days of hire.
- Prior experience in a patient service role is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service abilities.
- Accurate data entry skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and office procedures is preferred.
- Basic computer proficiency is required; experience with EHR and practice management systems is a plus.
Travel Requirements:
Ability to travel to various office locations as necessary.
