Recruitment and Community Relations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Recruitment and Community Relations Manager to join our team at our brand new, 1 million square foot distribution center in Lebanon, Tennessee. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the distribution center's recruiting and onboarding processes to meet business needs. This includes developing and implementing staffing strategies in partnership with the local management team, raising awareness of job opportunities through various communication tools and community relations, and organizing and conducting phone screens and/or interviews.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all applications and job postings for the facility, including creating job posts, posting jobs internally and/or externally, and responding to questions about application status.
- Create job offers and work with peer positions to complete the pre-employment process.
- Develop guidelines and best practices for managers to conduct interviews consistently and identify candidates who meet our hiring criteria.
- Conduct training for new managers on the Company's interview processes and hiring standards.
- Identify strategic opportunities to recruit locally and attend recruitment events, keeping track of the number of applicants and hires that come from each event.
- Conduct candidate sourcing/headhunting in the local market for mid-level leadership roles and collaborate with the corporate recruiting team for senior-level or niche positions.
- Manage relationships with temp agencies and coordinate temporary staffing needs and rosters, including periodic staffing forecasts, contract management, and analysis of temp to full-time conversions.
- Build relationships with local colleges, high schools, and professional/community organizations to create talent pipelines and referral sources.
- Coordinate on-site hiring events and advertise them through various media channels to reach a relevant audience in the local job market.
- Manage the location's Facebook page to showcase local recruitment and community relations efforts and collaborate with the corporate social media team for escalations and feedback from corporate social media channels, in addition to Indeed, Glassdoor, and Google reviews.
- Research, recommend, and manage other creative ways to market jobs in the community and track the results.
- Provide regular reports to management related to recruitment and staffing data.
- Monitor retention and turnover to proactively manage location headcounts and partner with EES to understand stay and exit interview feedback and implementation of related initiatives.
- Create and/or manage the local intern program to bring in and develop new talent.
- Set goals in partnership with the Clark Associates Charitable Foundation to further community outreach and track employee participation and seek feedback to enhance community outreach engagement and offerings.
- Coordinate local volunteer events for employees in partnership with external organizations and local management team.
- Function as a media/public relations contact as needed.
Requirements:
- Relevant experience in a recruiting or staffing role; experience working with a large group of non-exempt employees preferred.
- Experience working in a distribution or manufacturing environment preferred.
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency with MS Office required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical and complex concepts in a simple and concise way to ensure ease of understanding.
- Demonstrate the ability to connect with individuals at all levels, including external community partners, entry-level candidates, and senior leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to quickly adapt as business needs change; ability to address difficult situations with diplomacy and emotional intelligence.
- Customer service-oriented attitude with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations.
- Ability to work off-shift as required to respond to urgent needs.
