Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Congressional Affairs- Aeronautics to join our team at Lockheed Martin. As a key member of our Government Affairs team, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive government relations strategies to influence legislation, regulations, and policy decisions that impact our Aeronautics business area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute government relations strategies to advance policy objectives and protect Lockheed Martin's interests
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key Members of Congress, congressional committees, and their staff
  • Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments to identify potential opportunities, threats, or risks
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to execute coordinated and effective advocacy campaigns
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the Aeronautics business area, its products, services, and technology
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of experience working directly for Congress or in a similar Executive Branch or defense industry legislative affairs role
  • Established relationships with key congressional stakeholders, committees, and staff
  • Ability to research and analyze the DoD budget, annual National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), and annual Department of Defense Appropriations Act
  • In-depth understanding of procurement processes, including federal acquisition regulations and defense acquisition systems
  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills
