Associate Professor and Director of Rheumatology Division

Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as the Director of the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Immunology. As a key member of the Department of Internal Medicine, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the division in alignment with our tripartite clinical care, research, and education missions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support a broad-based clinical portfolio that includes quality-driven consultative and procedural needs of UC Physicians and the Primary Care Network.
  • Develop a roadmap to expand clinical and basic science research in the division.
  • Develop a plan for the optimal utilization of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
  • Participate in strategic development conversations.
  • Set clinical productivity targets for staff.
  • Fiscal oversight of divisional finances.
  • Set annual academic, clinical, and research goals.
  • Participate in the Department of Internal Medicine Chair's Council of Champions.
  • Recruit and mentor faculty and staff.
  • Meet with departmental and administrative leaders.
  • Address concerns from staff, patients, providers, and others.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance multidisciplinary approaches and initiatives.
  • Support new initiatives and efforts that might expand beyond our local campus to surrounding areas or virtually (via telemedicine).

Requirements

  • MD, DO, MD/PhD, or commensurate degree.
  • Board certification in Rheumatology or Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology.
  • Unrestricted Ohio Medical License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA and/or strong business acumen.
  • Previous success in building and leading a large, interdisciplinary team.
  • Experience with communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and decision making.
