Cell Therapy Director

The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Director of Cell Therapies, Assistant/Associate Professor. This is an open rank, open track faculty position, but is expected to be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the ongoing operations of the cell therapy processing program, including the recruitment of additional team members, as needed, and the expansion of the existing top-tier cellular therapy and transplantation capacities.
Responsibilities- Provide oversight and leadership to staff in respect to all technical procedures, quality processes, and systems of cGMP cell and tissue manufacturing.
- Responsible for financial management, human resource management, process development, process improvement, and accreditation for the Cellular Therapies Division.
- Ensure compliance with requirements of all relevant regulatory and accrediting bodies (i.e., FDA, FACT, AABB).
- Participate on external scientific and professional committees in cellular and tissue therapeutics to advance the reputation of the supported programs.
- Ensure adequate space, capital, and human resources to meet the research and manufacturing needs of the supported clinical programs.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team care and clinical research within the UC Cancer Center and the stem cell transplantation programs of UC Health, CCHMC, Mercy Health - The Jewish Hospital, and Akron Children's Hospital.
- Contribute to cellular therapy literature via peer-reviewed publications.
- Actively participate in the teaching of fellows, residents, and medical and graduate students.
- Applicants must have an MD or DO to be considered as the processing facility director and processing facility medical director. MD or DO applicants must be licensed or eligible for unrestricted license in the State of Ohio.
- Applicants must have a PhD to be considered solely as the processing facility director.
- Position and track will depend on academic accomplishments and programmatic expectations.
- At least two years' relevant experience in the preparation and clinical use of cellular therapy products is required.
Expertise in the development of clinical stem cell transplant/cellular therapy products is ideal.
