About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant Representative to join our team at Regional One Health. As a key member of our patient care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional clinical and clerical support to patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greets patients and families with a warm and welcoming smile, ensuring a positive first impression of our organization.
  • Verifies patient registration information, including identity, address, and insurance details, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collects co-pays and outstanding balances, providing patients with receipts and maintaining a secure cash drawer.
  • Updates patient records and communicates with clinical staff to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Performs various clinical tasks, such as vital sign collection, specimen collection, and EKGs, under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals.
  • Works assigned encounter edits, including eligibility checks, appointment scheduling, and no-show management.
  • Provides exceptional customer service, responding to patient inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintains confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA and other regulatory requirements, ensuring the protection of patient information.
  • Collaborates with the forensic team and law enforcement officials to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients and staff.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an approved Medical Assistant program.
  • Documentation of national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) within nine months of hire.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification upon hire.
  • At least one year of experience as a medical assistant.
