Patient Service Representative

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Patient Service Representative to join our team at Intermountain Health. As a Patient Service Representative, you will be the first point of contact for patients entering our facilities, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Greet patients in a professional manner, assess their needs, and ensure their expectations are exceeded.
  • Patient Intake: Update and verify patient demographics, insurance, and contact information, and assist patients in completing necessary forms.
  • Scheduling: Promptly schedule appointments using provider templates and scheduling guidelines.
  • Payment Processing: Proactively request payments from patients and process payments following appropriate procedures.
  • Administrative Support: Support the administrative function of the clinic, working reports, addressing patient concerns, and performing paperwork.
  • Team Collaboration: Coordinate with other care teams and employees to provide a seamless experience for patients.

Requirements:

  • Customer Service Experience: Six months of customer service experience involving interactions with customers.
  • Computer Skills: Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Customer Service Experience: One year of customer service experience, especially in a hospital or medical office.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Problem-solving ability, analytical skills, self-motivated, and able to work well in a clinic environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Interpersonal Interaction: Interact with others requiring the ability to communicate information.
  • Computer Operation: Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
  • Vision: See and read computer monitors and documents.
  • Physical Activity: Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
