Position Overview
This role is pivotal in ensuring that our facilities adhere to all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
- Develop and implement policies and standard operating procedures in alignment with OSHA, EPA, NJDEP, and other regulatory bodies.
- Oversee air quality, wastewater discharge, and hazardous waste permits, ensuring procedures are in place for compliance.
- Prepare and submit regular regulatory reports, maintaining documentation that is inspection-ready at all times.
- Conduct job hazard analyses and recommend appropriate engineering controls, administrative measures, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assess hazards associated with new chemicals and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
- Train employees on established procedures and enforce adherence to safety policies.
- Manage hazardous waste operations, ensuring compliance as a large quantity generator (LQG) and maintaining necessary documentation.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain fire protection equipment and emergency notification systems, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Required Skills:
- Strong oral and written communication abilities.
- Capability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific or engineering discipline.
- Minimum of two years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector or a related field.
- Comprehensive understanding of EHS standards within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and NJDEP regulations pertinent to the pharmaceutical sector and regulatory reporting obligations.
