Position Overview:
This role is crucial for overseeing compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations at our facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all facilities adhere to relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
  • Formulate and enforce policies and standard operating procedures in alignment with OSHA, EPA, NJDEP, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Manage permits related to air quality, wastewater discharge, and hazardous waste, ensuring compliance through established procedures.
  • Prepare and submit regular regulatory reports, maintaining documentation that is always inspection-ready.
  • Conduct job hazard analyses and propose necessary engineering and administrative controls, as well as personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assess hazards associated with new chemicals and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
  • Implement training for employees on safety procedures and enforce adherence to established policies.
  • Oversee hazardous waste management, ensuring compliance as a large quantity generator (LQG) and maintaining necessary documentation.
  • Perform regular inspections and audits of all facilities, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain fire protection equipment and emergency notification systems, ensuring they are operational and compliant.
  • Conduct routine testing of security systems and lead inspections as required.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

Required Skills:

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or engineering discipline.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector or a related field.
  • Comprehensive understanding of EHS standards within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and NJDEP regulations relevant to the pharmaceutical sector and regulatory reporting obligations.
