Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Technician to join our team at TDS Telecom. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications equipment and networks for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, test, and repair telecommunications equipment and networks, including fiber optic and copper facilities.
  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic tests to identify and resolve issues with telecommunications equipment and networks.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and resolve issues.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to complete tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in telecommunications technology.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in telecommunications field service or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A+ certification and computer networking experience.
  • Practical knowledge/experience with computer applications, including databases, trouble/repair/dispatch systems, and plant record systems.
  • Ability to work and make decisions independently with little or no supervision.
  • Demonstrated customer service and sales skills, as well as effective communications skills (verbal and written) for interaction with internal and external customers.
