Position Overview:
As a pivotal member of the Enterprise Production Services (EPS) Automation team, the Senior Systems Automation Engineer will leverage their technical acumen to craft automation solutions that span both Cloud and On-Premises environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of automation solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational efficiency.
  • Act as a hands-on technical authority, contributing to architectural frameworks, conducting code evaluations, and developing software as necessary.
  • Support critical project initiatives while managing operational tasks to uphold the integrity of the infrastructure.

Essential Duties:

  • Utilize automation technologies to translate requirements into effective solutions that deliver business value.
  • Enhance operational efficiencies through the development of automation capabilities for infrastructure services.
  • Design automation workflows to streamline complex manual processes.
  • Collaborate with automation platform architects and infrastructure teams to create integrations with key systems.
  • Promote the adoption of DevOps methodologies and Agile project management practices within the organization.
  • Ensure the stability of the automation environment through effective scheduling and execution of system maintenance and updates.
  • Contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives related to cloud service administration.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution for both cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Possess foundational knowledge of machine learning techniques and models, such as Decision Trees and Time Series analysis.
  • Integrate risk management processes into daily responsibilities to monitor and mitigate potential risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the field.
  • Proficient in software development using Python or Java, with expertise in infrastructure automation.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and implementing solutions utilizing AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, KMS, Lambda, IAM, Kinesis, and ECS.
  • In-depth knowledge of Cloud methodologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), automation, and orchestration.
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Chef and Ansible.
  • Familiarity with source code management and CI/CD tools like Git and Jenkins.
  • Basic experience with modeling software, such as R or Gunicorn.
  • Proficient in scripting languages like JavaScript, PHP, Bash, or Perl for automation purposes.

Core Competencies:

  • Expertise in Python or Java.
  • Agile methodology proficiency.
  • Experience in designing and building solutions with AWS services.
  • Understanding of Cloud methodologies and automation practices.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools.
  • Knowledge of source code management and CI/CD processes.
  • Experience with scripting for automation.

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of machine learning techniques and models.
  • Basic experience with modeling software.
