Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist II P/T to join our team at Quest Diagnostics. As a key member of our patient service center, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Collect blood samples from patients in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to established procedures and protocols.
  • Administer oral solutions as required, following established training and guidelines.
  • Verify patient information and test orders, utilizing lab technology systems and directory of services.
  • Enter accurate data into our system, including patient registration, test orders, and billing information.
  • Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing, as required by test order.
  • Perform departmental-related clerical duties, such as data entry, inventory, and answering phones.
  • Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Assist with compilation and submission of monthly statistics and data.
  • Complete training courses and stay up-to-date with the latest phlebotomy techniques.
Requirements
  • Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
  • Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record, if applicable.
  • Travel and flexible hours required to work multiple locations with minimal notice.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years in a patient service center environment.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Lift light to moderately heavy objects, up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods, with long hours of eye and hand coordination.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks with dominant hand frequently to constantly throughout the day.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Committed to all Quest Diagnostics policies and procedures.
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
  • Superior customer focus, with ability to communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors, and patients.
