Shift: Monday - Friday 5:00am-6:30pm

Duration: 3+ Months

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist II to join our team at a medical facility in Murrysville, PA. As a Phlebotomist II, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients of all ages, ensuring patient comfort and safety during the collection process, and accurately labeling specimens and completing requisition forms.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood specimens from patients of all ages.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during the collection process.
  • Accurately label specimens and complete requisition forms.
  • Adhere to standardized procedures for waived testing, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of results.
  • Properly handle and store specimens to maintain sample integrity.
  • Follow protocols for specimen transport and disposal.
  • Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Apply electrodes and monitor patients during the procedure to ensure quality tracings.
  • Prepare and verify manifests for specimens being sent to external laboratories or for transportation purposes.

Requirements:

  • Five years of phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Minimum 3 years in a PSC/IOP environment preferred.
  • Customer service in a retail or service environment is preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
