Vehicle Service Technician Trainee

Job Summary
Recology is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Automotive Technician Trainee to join our team. As a trainee, you will work under the direct supervision of a Lead Mechanic, Equipment Maintenance Supervisor, or Equipment Maintenance Manager to service, maintain, inspect, and repair vehicles, machinery, and/or equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance, inspection, and repairs on company vehicles and equipment.
- Conduct basic tire work, including replacement and repairs.
- Perform basic electrical work, including light replacement and repair.
- Replace hydraulic hoses and repair or replace small parts or components.
- Conduct minor repair and cleaning of components as required.
- Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections on company vehicles or equipment in accordance with company standards and policies.
- Attend work-related, skill-building training classes.
Qualifications
- Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.
- A typical way to qualify is one year of related experience performing automotive repair, or graduation from a trade school may substitute experience.
- Principles and practices of job site safety, potential job hazards, and state and local regulations.
- Basic hand tools.
- Basic computer skills and programs.
- High school degree or GED preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Commercial driver's license preferred.
