Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients in transitioning to the DME area and prepare them for fittings.
  • Manage the application and removal of orthopedic devices such as casts, splints, and braces.
  • Educate patients on the proper use of medical equipment.
  • Oversee inventory management within the DME and medication dispensing areas.
  • Provide patients with informative materials related to their equipment and orthopedic devices.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and clinical teams regarding DME items and medications dispensed in the office.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels across all clinical locations under the guidance of the DME Manager.
  • Provide support at other Peachtree Orthopedics locations as directed by the DME Manager.
  • Ensure accurate documentation for all items dispensed in the office.
  • Offer coverage during weekends and evenings at other clinics as needed.
  • Participate in meetings and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Certification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) is preferred.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or willingness to obtain certification through in-house training.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a DME or orthopedic environment is required.
  • Experience in a clinical DME setting is preferred, but training is available for the right candidate.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
