The role of Lead Consultant in Financial Risk Analysis involves utilizing advanced methodologies, tools, and strategies to safeguard our clients' investment portfolios. The primary focus of this position is to gather and evaluate data for risk management applications, including stress testing, risk reporting, acquisitions, loan origination, credit modeling, and collections management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting and analyzing intricate data sets utilizing various software solutions through statistical and financial methodologies.
  • Collaborating closely with model developers, business units, and financial leadership to enhance models and analytics via data insights.
  • Collecting data from multiple sources, constructing models and dashboards, conducting analyses, and interpreting outcomes to facilitate impactful business decisions.
  • Contributing to data strategy, governance, quality assurance, and architecture modeling initiatives.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as finance, engineering, physics, statistics, or mathematics.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in risk management (DFAST) and credit modeling within a financial institution.
  • At least three years of experience in managing, manipulating, and analyzing extensive datasets.
  • Familiarity with data structures, data warehousing concepts, and data modeling techniques.
  • Understanding of data preparation methods for statistical and Machine Learning models.
  • Experience in developing and automating ETL processes using enterprise data integration tools.
  • Proficiency with enterprise database systems (e.g., Oracle, IBM, SAP HANA, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and cloud platforms.
  • Competence in SQL and programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Awareness of data visualization tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as finance, engineering, physics, statistics, or mathematics.
  • Experience with Single Family credit modeling.
  • Familiarity with Government Sponsored Enterprises (GSEs).
  • Prior experience in consulting roles.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA or FRM.
