Position Overview
The Lead Aquatics Program Coordinator is instrumental in overseeing the Aquatics segment of Recreational Sports and reports directly to the Assistant Director for Aquatics. Key responsibilities encompass involvement in programming and daily operations of the aquatic facilities, supporting a variety of aquatic events, and providing leadership to a team of lifeguards and aquatics instructors.

Core Responsibilities
  • Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise a dedicated team of lifeguards and instructors.
  • Design and manage revenue-generating aquatic programs.
  • Assist in the development of safety training and emergency action protocols.
  • Offer comprehensive leadership for recreational programs and services.
Qualifications
  • In-depth knowledge of aquatics programming and management.
  • Experience in staff training and development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership in recreational sports.
  • Prior supervisory experience is essential.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to navigate throughout the facility, climb ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, and maintain visual focus.
  • Responsibilities include operating departmental vehicles.
  • Must be able to distinguish between various odors for safety considerations.
