The Ford-Lincoln Veteran Careers Program is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for performing complex repairs and maintenance on Ford and Lincoln vehicles.
Key Responsibilities- Repair and Maintenance: Perform assigned work with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Diagnosis and Repair: Diagnose the cause of malfunctions and perform repairs, if authorized by Service Consultants.
- Parts Coordination: Coordinate with the Parts Department to ensure availability of parts.
- Documentation: Document work performed as directed by Service Consultants.
- Quality Control: Road test vehicles to ensure quality of repair and ensure vehicles remain clean.
- Continuing Education: Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins and attend factory-sponsored training classes.
- Shop Maintenance: Keep the shop area neat and clean and remain accountable for all tools used.
- Regulatory Compliance: Understand and comply with federal, state and local regulations, such as safety requirements, hazardous waste disposal, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other policies, procedures and programs as required.
- Experience: Have at least 3 years of experience working as a Technician in an automotive service department.
- Qualifications: Valid driver's license and a clear driving record.
- Screening Requirements: Ability to pass the following pre-employment screening requirements (drug screening, Motor Vehicle record report and a background investigation).
- References: Be able to provide a minimum of three good work references, with current contact information.
The Service Technician will be required to work closely with others or independently, if needed. Dealership uniforms are required.
