Geothermal Resource Engineer

Position Overview
The Geothermal Resource Engineer plays a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency of geothermal resource extraction to ensure sustainable energy production. Key responsibilities encompass well testing, reservoir modeling, wellbore analysis, process simulation, pump performance evaluation, and pressure transient assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
Reservoir Management
- Ensure organized and timely collection of well field data and analysis.
- Identify opportunities for improvement within geothermal fields and communicate findings effectively.
- Coordinate the preparation of reservoir performance reports.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to wellfield and energy generation.
- Develop and update forecasts for resource deliverability and energy generation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the value of company assets.
- Assist in well drilling, workover, and maintenance activities for designated wellfields.
- Create, update, and maintain reservoir models for assigned areas.
- Conduct wellbore modeling.
- Design, monitor, and optimize production pump performance.
- Evaluate the performance of production and injection wells, recommending necessary actions.
- Plan and oversee well testing, analyzing and interpreting well log results.
- Review and validate the work of peers, ensuring accurate interpretations and reporting.
Company Support
- Comply with and promote all company safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- Prepare clear and concise presentations and reports for management and peers.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to enhance results and sustainability of geothermal resources.
- Complete all mandatory safety and process training by specified deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, or related fields) or Geoscience with relevant experience.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in the geothermal sector or related fields such as assessment, drilling, and operations of underground reservoirs.
- Familiarity with advanced data analytics, simulation modeling, and subsurface mapping is preferred.
- Knowledge of advanced well production techniques is advantageous.
- Experience with Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) geothermal power plants is a plus.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently while demonstrating attention to detail.
- Capacity to sit for extended periods and travel to remote locations under challenging conditions.
- Ability to type and view a computer screen for prolonged durations.
- Willingness to undertake domestic travel as required.
- Ability to adapt to various environmental conditions, including indoor and outdoor work.
- Capability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Exposure to moving machinery and potential hazardous materials may occur.
