Opportunity Overview

Your Contributions

  • Lead and mentor high-performing teams in underground hard-rock mine design and planning.
  • Conduct strategic modeling and engineering analyses, utilizing advanced mine modeling software.
  • Oversee a comprehensive range of underground hard rock engineering tasks, including:
  • In-depth mine design
  • Engineering trade-off assessments
  • Cost estimation and economic evaluations
  • Preparation of technical documentation, including public disclosure reports for Mineral Resources and Reserves.
  • Support engineering and geological project aspects as needed.
  • Implement WSP's Project Management standards to oversee all project facets.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technical personnel to enhance skills and procedures for effective project delivery.
  • Act as an internal technical resource, providing guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Foster staff development and professional growth.
  • Exercise ethical decision-making regarding company resources and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in mining engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in underground hard rock engineering, focusing on mine planning, design, and scheduling.
  • Experience in consulting or technical services within the underground hard rock mining sector.
  • Proficient technical writing skills, with experience in proposals and technical reports.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and strategic planning capabilities.
  • Familiarity with mine planning and design software such as MineSight 3D, Vulcan, Deswik, and Datamine.
  • Understanding of technical requirements for pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, including public disclosure documents.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with diverse audiences.
  • Ability to lead and guide mid to senior-level team members while adhering to QA/QC standards.
  • Proficient in technical writing and utilizing discipline-specific design software and tools.
  • Experienced in reviewing complex documents and preparing technical deliverables.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to apply technical knowledge effectively.
  • Proven commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health and safety policies.
  • Flexibility to adapt to various schedules and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel to remote project locations.
