Position OverviewThe role entails:
- Overseeing industrial electrical installations across various sites, leveraging expertise in construction management and contract fulfillment.
- Engaging in developmental tasks throughout the project lifecycle, including bid and cost assessments.
- Validating electrical design specifications.
- Assisting in project scheduling and evaluating third-party contract bids.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Supervise the electrical construction team, which includes both company personnel and subcontractors.
- Direct the formal planning, monitoring, and reporting of electrical engineering and interconnection tasks for projects.
- Establish and manage budgets, including estimating requirements for both internal and external engineering efforts.
- Conduct and oversee the preparation of electrical and structural feasibility studies, along with project-specific analyses, calculations, and designs.
- Address the needs of the operational and construction teams.
- Support the planning and scoping of new facilities and system enhancements.
- Assist with corporate, state, and local permitting and project initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes and regulations during project execution.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to define and implement work requirements for initial development and project expansions of high voltage interconnection and transmission facilities.
- Maintain safe vehicle operation, navigate without assistance, and remain alert while driving.
- Be available for weekend and holiday work as necessary.
- Travel extensively to various locations, including international and rural areas for project work.
Additional Duties
- Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of electrical education.
- Proven ability to take initiative and be accountable for both individual and team outcomes.
- Capability to inspire oneself and others to set and achieve high performance standards.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English to effectively communicate job-related information.
- Ability to utilize and learn various computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations; proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Internet usage is required.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and PLS CADD is preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving record acceptable to Ormat's insurance provider.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds periodically.
- Capability to navigate and work in remote field locations and outdoor environments under challenging weather conditions.
- Ability to walk, hike, and work on steep, rough terrain for extended durations.
- Proficient in safely operating 4WD light vehicles on highways and off-road.
- Frequent climbing of ladders and working from elevated platforms is required.
- Protective gear and fire-retardant clothing must be worn for certain tasks.
- Job entails sitting 20% of the time and standing 80% of the time.
