Position Overview

The role entails:

  • Overseeing industrial electrical installations across various sites, leveraging expertise in construction management and contract fulfillment.
  • Engaging in developmental tasks throughout the project lifecycle, including bid and cost evaluations.
  • Validating electrical designs to ensure compliance and functionality.
  • Assisting in project scheduling and evaluating third-party contract bids.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple high-complexity projects effectively.
  • Supervise the electrical construction team, comprising both company personnel and subcontractors.
  • Oversee the planning, tracking, and reporting of electrical engineering and interconnection tasks.
  • Establish project budgets, including estimating needs for both internal and external engineering efforts.
  • Conduct and supervise the preparation of electrical and structural feasibility studies, as well as specific project analyses, calculations, and designs.
  • Address the needs of the operational and construction teams.
  • Support the planning and scoping of new facilities and system enhancements.
  • Assist with corporate, state, and local permitting and project activities.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant electrical codes and regulations during project execution.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to define and implement work requirements for initial development and project expansions involving high voltage interconnections and transmission facilities.
  • Maintain safe vehicle operation, including the ability to navigate without assistance and read maps effectively.
  • Be available for weekend and holiday work as necessary.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, including to international and remote locations for project work.

Additional Duties

  • Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • A minimum of 4 years of electrical education.
  • Proven ability to take initiative and be accountable for both individual and team outcomes.
  • Capability to inspire self and others to achieve high performance standards.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication and job performance.
  • Ability to utilize various computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations, with proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and PLS CADD is preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving record acceptable to Ormat's insurance provider.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds periodically.
  • Capability to navigate and work in remote field locations and outdoor environments under challenging weather conditions.
  • Ability to walk, hike, and work on steep and rough terrain for extended periods.
  • Proficient in safely operating 4WD light vehicles on both highways and off-road.
  • Frequent climbing of ladders and working from elevated platforms is required.
  • Protective gear and fire-retardant clothing may be necessary for certain tasks.
  • Job entails sitting 20% of the time and standing 80% of the time.
