Position Overview:
AMEWAS is in search of a driven and skilled Electrical Engineer-Journeyman to contribute to Electromagnetic Environmental Effects. The compensation for this role ranges from $78,000 to $90,000, based on experience. Please note that this position requires on-site support and is not eligible for remote work.

A typical day in the role of Electrical Engineer-Journeyman may involve:
  • Collaborating with a team of electrical engineers and technicians to establish engineering procedures and controls, manage project efforts, and lead problem-solving initiatives.
  • Engaging with program contractors, vendors, and government representatives on the technical aspects of engineering projects, including test scheduling and execution.
  • Researching, designing, and integrating high-power transmitter systems.
  • Operating and maintaining high-voltage equipment for electromagnetic capability testing.
  • Planning and conducting electromagnetic capability simulation testing, along with data collection, processing, and analysis.
  • Identifying system malfunctions and coordinating repair and maintenance efforts.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or an equivalent ABET-accredited degree.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in repairing electronic equipment.
  • Proficient in using oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Experience with high-power systems and a willingness to work both indoors (70%) and outdoors (30%).

Additional Skills:
  • Familiarity with electronic test equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with RF systems, including radars and magnetrons.
  • Knowledge of Electromagnetic Capability (EMC) testing.
  • Experience with military aircraft.

Work Environment and Conditions:
The role may require occasional travel to various offices or buildings on-site. Rarely, overnight travel may be necessary. The physical environment necessitates the ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the workday, which may include bending and lifting items up to approximately 50 lbs, as well as operating machinery for heavy object movement, such as forklifts and dollies. This position may also involve driving government vehicles.
