Position Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and skilled Junior Electrical Engineer specializing in Pulsed Power to support our Electromagnetic Environmental Effects team. The salary for this position ranges from $75,000 to $82,000, based on experience. This role requires on-site support.
Key Responsibilities:
A typical day may involve:
- Collaborating with the pulser team in both indoor and outdoor laboratory settings to conduct test activities.
- Supporting MIL-STD-3023 High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse testing for military aircraft, weapons, and communication systems.
- Building, operating, and troubleshooting electromagnetic pulse simulators and high voltage/high current equipment.
- Calibrating and maintaining specialized test equipment.
- Researching and developing current electromagnetic pulse simulators/subsystems to enhance reliability and performance.
- Coordinating with customers, contractors, technical leads, and program managers to fulfill responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess:
- A BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field with experience in pulsed power engineering or applied electromagnetics.
- Knowledge of pulse forming networks and high voltage pulsed power supplies.
- Familiarity with analog and digital technologies.
- Experience with RF test equipment such as oscilloscopes and VNAs.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Desired Skills:
Preferred candidates will have:
- Experience in magnetic/electrical field analysis of pulse forming networks.
- Familiarity with engineering design tools like MATLAB, LABVIEW, and CAD software.
Work Environment:
The role requires working in an office environment, with physical activities including standing, walking, and lifting items up to 50 lbs. Occasional travel may be necessary.
