Overview:

In recent years, DGOC has broadened its operational footprint into the Central Regional Focus Area, which includes productive regions within Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.


Key Responsibilities:


The Instrumentation and Control Specialist will be an integral member of the Measurement and Control Team, collaborating closely with the broader IT field support group.

This role necessitates daily interaction with various teams within the IT department, including SCADA and Internal Measurement teams, as well as Field Operations and Engineering support teams.

The successful candidate will deliver on-site technical assistance in the design, installation, programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all oil and gas facility process equipment.


Essential Qualifications:


High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

An associate's or technical degree in instrumentation, automation, or process controls is preferred, although equivalent experience will be considered.

Experience in the oil and gas sector is advantageous.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities are essential.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and other relevant software is required.

Effective communication skills with management, engineering, and operational staff are necessary.


The candidate must be a team player, able to follow directions from supervisors, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively to meet critical deadlines is crucial.


Capability to operate safely in demanding environments, including but not limited to high temperatures, noise, dust, and other industrial settings.


Physical requirements include, but are not limited to: navigating stairs and ladders, traversing uneven surfaces, and lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds.

A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record are required.

Availability for emergency and on-call support is expected.


Technical Skills:


Experience in oil and gas instrumentation and measurement is required.

Basic understanding of various instruments, communication protocols (Hart, Modbus), configuration software, and testing devices is necessary.

Familiarity with both gas and liquid measurement technologies (e.g., Orifice, ultrasonic, Coriolis, turbine) is essential.

Knowledge of relevant AGA, API, and GPA standards is important.

Understanding of chart recorders and associated maintenance is required.

Basic knowledge of wireless networking, including radios, cellular modems, switches, routers, and other network equipment, is beneficial.


Ability to connect to and troubleshoot EFM/RTU and/or PLC programs (e.g., Fisher ROC / Floboss, ABB, Bristol Control Wave, Modicon, Allen Bradley) is necessary.


Capability to open, load, and deploy local HMI programs (e.g., Beijer, Red Lion, Pro Face, Panel View) is required.


Basic knowledge and experience in troubleshooting and repairing various types of artificial lift equipment (e.g., Plunger, POC, ESP) is essential.


Ability to troubleshoot and work on electrical equipment ranging from 12 VDC to 600 VAC is necessary.


Basic understanding of SCADA platforms (Cygnet preferred) is advantageous.
