About the Role:

As a Chief Building Engineer Supervisor at CBRE, you will oversee the team responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing ongoing maintenance and repair operations for a facility, campus, or portfolio of buildings.

This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Tracking the training and development of staff
  • Conducting performance evaluations and providing coaching opportunities
  • Overseeing the recruiting and hiring of new employees
  • Coordinating and managing the team's daily activities
  • Establishing work schedules, assigning tasks, and cross-training staff
  • Developing, implementing, and communicating preventive maintenance programs and safety procedure manuals
  • Ensuring that mechanics and technicians have the proper information and materials for assignments
  • Developing material and labor cost estimates for work orders, preventative maintenance activities, systems, and construction projects
  • Establishing and maintaining budgets for facilities maintenance
  • Responding to emergency situations and seeking help when needed
  • Applying advanced knowledge to seek and develop new, better methods for accomplishing individual and department objectives
  • Coaching others to develop in-depth knowledge and expertise in most or all areas within the function
  • Leading by example and modeling behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values

Requirements include:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 5-8 years of job-related experience
  • 3rd Class Engineer License
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs or more
  • Innovative mentality to develop methods that go beyond existing solutions
  • Ability to solve unique problems using standard and innovative solutions with a broad impact on the business
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Expert organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset
  • Highly sophisticated math skills
