Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Hardware Design Lead Engineer to join our team at Aarna Software and Solutions LLC. The successful candidate will have a strong background in designing ECUs for internal combustion engines, hybrid, or electric vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop Engine Control Units (ECUs), including analog and digital circuitry, microcontroller-based systems, power supplies, sensors, and actuators.
  • Develop power electronics, signal processing, and sensor interfaces.
  • Utilize hardware design tools such as Altium, OrCAD, Mentor Graphics, or equivalent.
  • Design and develop microcontroller-based systems, including ARM, DSP, and FPGAs.
  • Implement CAN/LIN communication protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and compliance standards like ISO Functional Safety and ASPICE.
  • Develop hardware testing methodologies, including HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) simulation.
  • Optimize hardware designs for cost, size, weight, and reliability while meeting system performance goals.
  • Perform simulations, analysis, and design validation to ensure compliance with performance, thermal, and EMC requirements.

Requirements:

  • 12 to 15 years of experience in designing ECUs for internal combustion engines, hybrid, or electric vehicles.
  • Strong experience in designing and developing Engine Control Units (ECUs), including analog and digital circuitry, microcontroller-based systems, power supplies, sensors, and actuators.
  • Strong experience in power electronics, signal processing, and sensor interfaces.
  • Strong proficiency with hardware design tools such as Altium, OrCAD, Mentor Graphics, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of microcontroller-based design (e.g., ARM, DSP, and FPGAs) and experience with CAN/LIN communication protocols.
  • Familiarity and experience with safety and compliance standards like ISO Functional Safety and ASPICE.
  • Experience with hardware testing methodologies, including HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) simulation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Experience with FMEA, FMEDA, and DFA.
