Your Role:
As a key member of our team, you will:
  • Establish the Functional Safety framework for Internal Combustion Engine products.
  • Develop and implement requirements in accordance with ISO26262 standards.
  • Oversee OBD 3-Step development related to various functional safety diagnostics.
  • Provide expert guidance on the application of ISO26262 across multiple engine programs.

Conduct comprehensive safety analyses, applying functional safety standards to offer insights and recommendations to engineering teams regarding systems, hardware, and software safety findings, ensuring adherence to safety objectives.

Take responsibility for the overall Functional Safety of gasoline, diesel, and CNG engines.

Lead the safety planning process and support the project team throughout all stages of safety engineering, including:

  • Requirements gathering
  • Item definitions
  • Preliminary hazard analysis
  • Risk assessment
  • Functional safety concept development
  • Technical safety concept formulation
  • Item integration
  • Safety validation

Perform technical assessments and provide insights to support the creation of safety concepts and documentation, including hazard and risk assessments, hazard metric translations, safety goal definitions, ASIL decomposition, and both FMEA and FTA analyses.

Collaborate with software design teams to ensure that all safety requirements are effectively integrated at the system, hardware interface, and software architectural levels.

Analyze and define functional safety requirements based on customer specifications, prioritizing safety standards and constraints.

Conduct design analyses to support the development of safety case arguments for electronic stability control systems.

Update and maintain hazard and risk analyses, safety plans, and functional and technical safety concepts.

Specify safety requirements and concepts for various systems and components, ensuring that the system design meets all requirements, considering hardware-software interactions and functional dependencies.

Work closely with the design team to create robust technical solutions that comply with ISO26262 standards.

Lead and support Safety Assessment Reviews conducted by safety assessors.

Perform safety analyses using established deductive (FMEA, FMEDA) and inductive (H&R, FTA) methods, with results guiding system design and architecture decisions.

Assist in safety verification and validation activities, and participate in safety review meetings with customers and suppliers.

Engage actively in product development, including the planning and monitoring of safety plans and their validation testing.


Qualifications for Success:

Essential:

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Control Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline, along with significant experience in embedded control systems development.

A minimum of 5 years of experience as a safety analyst within the automotive sector.

Prior experience with Embedded Electronic Control systems (e.g., Brake, Airbag, Steering).

Proficiency in applying safety standards such as ISO 26262 or IEC 61508.

A solid understanding of both embedded software and hardware engineering domains.

Experience in automotive product engineering and development with OEMs.
