Responsibilities:
Assist and engage in the daily operations and functions of kitchen facilities, food preparation, and production in designated areas while ensuring that performance standards are upheld.
Organize and stock stations with all necessary supplies
Prepare food for service (e.g., chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
Cook menu items in collaboration with the kitchen staff
Maintain cleanliness of the station and manage leftover food
Appropriately stock inventory
Ensure food is served simultaneously, at high quality, and in a timely manner
Adhere to nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor with coworkers

Essential Skills:

Attention to Detail:
Kitchen supervisors must monitor various elements: food quality, costs, safety, etc.

Leadership:

Kitchen supervisors are expected to lead the back-of-house team, motivating them during busy shifts, resolving conflicts, and ensuring tasks are completed.


Management Skills:

Kitchen supervisors handle not only food but also costs, pricing, and scheduling.


Organizational Skills:
Keeping schedules, shipments, cleaning tasks, and more organized is vital to the role.

Problem-Solving Skills:
The ability to quickly devise solutions is essential.

Communication Skills:

Kitchen supervisors must effectively convey standards and cooking methods to staff, give clear instructions, and engage with team members.


Stamina:
Kitchen supervisors should be prepared for long hours around hot cooking elements, often on their feet.
