Senior Communication Integration Manager

The COMET contract encompasses comprehensive management and execution of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. These responsibilities will bolster the International Space Station (ISS), Ground Systems Development and Operations (GSDO), and the Space Launch System (SLS), along with the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle and Launch Services programs.

As a Communication Integration Manager, you will be tasked with coordinating and integrating KSC projects and other center contractor services to fulfill program operational requirements. You will devise and execute plans to achieve milestones, ascertain operational support and system requirements, and assess outcomes for ongoing improvement. This role supports the Exploration Ground Systems (EGS), Space Launch System (SLS), and Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle.

This position does not entail personnel management.

Key Responsibilities:

Your areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to:


• Serving as the operational leader for Communication Integration Manager functions, utilizing expertise acquired through experience, whether or not accompanied by a degree, which may involve designing and developing plans, processes, procedures, and analyzing planning data requirements.


• Collaborating with the NASA Communication IT contractor to conduct EGS Communication systems Voice, Transmissions, Imaging, and functional checks prior to significant Artemis Processing operations and simulations.


• Ensuring that the KSC EGS site processing schedules (KICS) have accurately identified and integrated the necessary Communication contractor support requirements.


• Engaging with organizational management to guarantee proper planning, prioritization, and support for processing activities.


• Supporting Daily Scheduling Meetings.


• Executing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

External Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, plus ten (10) years of relevant experience.

Essential Skills:


• Strong communication, presentation, and customer interface skills are essential.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, internet browsers, and Outlook.


• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects without compromising deadlines or accuracy.


• Self-motivated, demonstrating initiative, and capable of working independently or with minimal supervision.


• Must be able to perform walkdowns in various processing facilities.


• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident/Green Card holder of the United States is required if offered a position.

Physical Requirements:


• May require climbing stairs to access equipment for troubleshooting.


• May necessitate wearing hearing protection, eye protection, and other personal protective equipment.


• Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.


• Physical requirements include sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures.


• Position is located in a hazardous testing facility; must be able to quickly evacuate buildings in emergencies.

Work Environment:


• May require working indoors and outdoors throughout the test complex.


• Position may necessitate daily travel to different areas on-site.


• Walking on uneven terrain, including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand, may be required to access various locations on the facility.


• Climbing ladders and platforms may be necessary.


• All work must be conducted safely in accordance with NASA and company safety standards.

Equipment and Machines:


• Computers and printers used for generating reports and schedules.


• A variety of equipment utilized in testing.

Attendance:


• Full-time work hours are expected.


• Position may require occasional overtime, including weekend work, depending on tasks.


• Dependability and punctuality are essential.


• Shift work may be required.

Other Essential Functions:


• Must be able to communicate ideas accurately in both written and verbal forms.


• Must be able to travel to fulfill position requirements, which may include travel to and from customer locations, potentially involving airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can be made for POV, if necessary.


• Grooming and attire must be appropriate for the position and must not pose a safety risk to the employee or others.


• Must comply with all 'drug-free workplace' requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company, which necessitates drug testing for illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions.


• Government security clearance may be required in the future.


• Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
