Lunar Infrastructure Development: This position is integral to the Lunar Infrastructure division, responsible for advancing Blue Origin's various Blue Moon lander product lines. Our goal is to establish sustainable systems for transporting crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface, furthering our vision of a thriving human presence in space.
As a Systems Engineer within the Lunar Infrastructure Program's Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team, you will oversee the integration and technical management of essential propulsion components, including the BE-7, BHEX, and BT-1.1 engines, across a range of lunar landers. Your responsibilities will include defining technical specifications, managing propulsion performance metrics, resolving issues, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and NASA to ensure adherence to design and construction standards. Your contributions will be crucial in the successful development of the lunar transport system and the certification of the Human-class Delivery Lander, facilitating humanity's enduring presence on the Moon.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the integration of BE-7, BHEX, and BT-1.1 hardware across Transporter, Crew, and Cargo Landers.
- Define technical content for Statements of Work (SOW) related to BE-7, BHEX, and BT-1.1.
- Facilitate integration meetings for BE-7, BHEX, and BT-1.1.
- Monitor progress on critical issues and drive them to resolution promptly.
- Ensure that propulsion-related issues are reflected in program-wide priorities.
- Manage risks associated with propulsion systems within the program.
- Elevate decisions to the SLD board as necessary.
- Oversee Engines Technical Performance Metrics (TPMs).
- Manage performance requirements for SLD and communicate them to the engines team.
- Assess engine analyses and designs against established requirements.
- Collaborate with the RVC team to validate the Engines Verification & Validation (V&V) approach.
- Coordinate with the NASA Insight team to ensure timely responses and visibility into integration efforts.
- Work with the RVC team and NASA to meet design and construction standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in integrating complex hardware across various space vehicles, particularly in propulsion systems.
- Strong leadership skills to facilitate integration meetings and ensure effective collaboration.
- Ability to build trust and maintain professional relationships while fostering an inclusive culture.
- Comprehensive understanding of managing technical performance metrics and risks in advanced propulsion systems.
- Proven experience in evaluating engine system analyses and designs against stringent requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage schedules and collaborate with program control functions effectively.
- Experience in coordinating with internal and external teams to ensure compliance with design standards.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or legally admitted refugee/asylee.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in defining technical content for SOWs related to advanced propulsion systems.
- Familiarity with in-space combustion technologies, particularly cryogenic and gaseous hydrogen/oxygen systems.
- Experience in analyzing propulsion system impacts at a programmatic level.
- Ability to conduct trade studies and facilitate critical decisions across multiple organizations.
- Proficiency in systems engineering tools such as Jama or Cameo.
- Familiarity with the Blue Origin SLD Program.
- Experience in verification programs for complex aerospace systems.
- Knowledge of requirements and V&V tracking tools, preferably JAMA.
- Understanding of NASA's design and certification standards for human spaceflight.
- Experience with NASA's flight readiness certification process for new systems.
- Background in lunar, deep space, or planetary missions.
- Experience in managing large-scale programs with multiple stakeholders.
