The COMET contract encompasses comprehensive management and execution of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center.

These responsibilities will support critical programs including the International Space Station (ISS), Ground Systems Development and Operations (GSDO), and the Space Launch System (SLS), as well as the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle and Launch Services.

As a Communications Integration Manager, you will be tasked with coordinating and integrating projects at KSC and other contractor services to meet operational requirements.

Your role will involve developing and executing plans to achieve milestones, identifying operational support and system requirements, and assessing outcomes for ongoing improvement.

This position supports the Exploration Ground Systems (EGS), Space Launch System (SLS), and Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee operational leadership functions as a Communications Integration Manager, leveraging expertise gained through extensive experience, whether or not a degree is held, including the design and development of plans, processes, procedures, and planning data requirements analysis.
  • Collaborate with the NASA COMM IT contractor to execute EGS COMM systems voice, transmissions, imaging, and functional checks prior to significant Artemis processing operations and simulations.
  • Ensure that the KSC EGS site processing schedules (KICS) have accurately identified and integrated the necessary COMM contractor support requirements.
  • Engage with organizational management to ensure proper planning, prioritization, and support for processing activities.
  • Facilitate daily scheduling meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience.

  • Able to manage and prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
  • Self-motivated, demonstrating initiative, and capable of working independently or with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform walkdowns in various processing facilities.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident/Green Card holder is required if offered a position.
Physical Requirements:

  • May need to climb stairs to access equipment for troubleshooting.
  • May require the use of hearing protection, eye protection, and other personal protective equipment.
  • Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
  • Physical requirements include sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures.
  • Position is located in a hazardous testing facility; must be able to quickly evacuate buildings in case of an emergency.
Work Environment:

  • May be required to work both indoors and outdoors throughout the test complex.
  • Position may necessitate daily travel to different areas on site.
  • Walking on uneven terrain, including paved areas, gravel, and dirt, may be required to access various locations.
  • Climbing ladders and platforms may be necessary.
  • All work must be performed safely in accordance with NASA and company safety standards.
Equipment and Machines:

  • A variety of equipment used in testing.
Attendance:

  • Full-time work hours are expected.
  • Position may require occasional overtime, including weekend work, depending on tasks.
  • Dependability and punctuality are essential.
