Public Health Outreach Coordinator

We are seeking a passionate individual to join our team as a Public Health AmeriCorps Member. As a member of this program, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on communities through public service while gaining valuable professional experience.
This role involves working with non-profit agencies to meet critical community needs. You will be part of a multi-state AmeriCorps program focused on engaging volunteers and providing emergency readiness education to vulnerable communities.
In exchange for your 900 hours of service, you will receive leadership development, a bi-weekly stipend of $869.57, and a $3,697.50 education award upon successful completion. Additionally, you will have access to extensive opportunities for Red Cross and Public Health training.
Main Responsibilities:- Recruit a diverse pool of volunteers within served communities and partner locations.
- Navigate volunteers through the onboarding process to engage as Red Cross volunteers.
- Deliver preparedness presentations and hands-only CPR instruction to support communities.
- Support individuals impacted by public health and disaster-related emergencies.
- Serve approximately 40+ hours per week for 5.5 months, from February to August.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Hold a High School Diploma or GED.
- Be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Applicants outside of Alaska should be prepared to relocate if selected.
- Experience working with volunteers.
- Willingness to serve outside regular business hours.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Team-oriented and willing to help others without direction.
- Passionate about community outreach and education.
