**POSITIONS AVAILABLE IN MARYLAND**

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking qualified candidates for multiple PART-TIME roles in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Individuals selected for the Classroom Observer (Wage) position will engage in classroom evaluations within elementary and/or middle schools participating in research initiatives. The working hours for these roles will fluctuate based on school participation; candidates can anticipate working between 16-24 hours weekly, with schedules varying according to school availability and project timelines. Classroom observers will be involved for approximately 8 to 12 weeks, commencing with professional training and reliability certification.

Responsibilities include collecting data in educational settings using established observational tools. The ASSIST measure, which stands for "Assessing School Settings: Interactions of Students and Teachers," along with the CARES measure, known as the "Culturally and Racial Equity Sustaining Classroom Assessment System," will be utilized. Upon hiring, classroom observers will undergo training and reliability assessments for both measures to prepare for their observational duties. Compensation will be provided for training time. Training and reliability assessments will take place prior to the observation period. Duties encompass scheduling and conducting in-classroom evaluations with provided digital devices.

Minimum qualifications include:
Some college experience. Reliable transportation for travel between schools in Anne Arundel County, MD. Availability to work a minimum of 8 hours per week during standard school hours. Proficiency in basic technology troubleshooting, particularly with tablets. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently. Capability to effectively engage with diverse populations. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with coursework or experience in education or social science research.

Anticipated compensation for this position is $16.00 per hour.

This is a wage position that does not qualify for leave or other benefits and is limited to 1500 hours of work annually.
