General Overview

The Sales Support Specialist plays a crucial role in facilitating the daily Sales and Marketing operations at Hutchinson Industries, Inc. This position involves assisting clients and collaborating with various departments including Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Purchasing, and Production to ensure seamless operations and promote Hutchinson's offerings effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations, promptly reporting any hazardous situations or incidents.
  • Provide necessary support to the Sales and Marketing teams as needed.
  • Manage and nurture both new and existing customer accounts as directed by management.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Team to foster strong customer relationships.
  • Assist customers with product details, pricing, order updates, and new contract possibilities.
  • Process customer transactions accurately, including orders, inquiries, and quotes, serving as the primary contact when necessary. Coordinate closely with production to ensure timely order fulfillment.
  • Engage with logistics, production, engineering, accounting, and purchasing teams to gather pricing and lead time information for customer orders.
  • Follow up with internal teams to ensure prompt responses to customer inquiries.
  • Manage incoming questions and inquiries via phone, email, or teleconference, proactively communicating with customers about quote and order statuses while identifying their needs.
  • Be available for overtime work as required.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a Sales or Customer Service role is preferred.
  • Experience in logistics and shipping is advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. The employee is frequently required to sit, walk, talk, and hear. Occasionally, the employee may need to climb, balance, stoop, lift, or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision for computer work, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception for driving, and the ability to adjust focus.

This position is not significantly exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

Personal Protective Equipment

The following personal protective equipment is required while in the manufacturing area:

  • Safety Glasses conforming to ANSI Z87.1 or higher
  • Steel Toe Safety Shoes conforming to OSHA General Industry Standards 29 CFR 1910
  • Hearing protection conforming to OSHA General Industry Standards 29 CFR 1910
