General Overview
The Sales Support Specialist plays a crucial role in facilitating the daily Sales and Marketing operations at Hutchinson Industries, Inc. This position involves assisting clients and collaborating with various departments including Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Purchasing, and Production to ensure seamless operations and effectively promote Hutchinson's offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations, promptly reporting any hazardous situations or incidents.
- Provide necessary support to the Sales and Marketing teams as needed.
- Manage and nurture both new and existing customer accounts as directed by management.
- Collaborate with the Sales Team to foster strong customer relationships.
- Assist customers with product details, pricing, order status, and potential contract opportunities.
- Accurately handle customer transactions, including orders, inquiries, and quotes, serving as the primary contact when necessary. Coordinate closely with production to ensure timely shipment of orders.
- Engage with logistics, production, engineering, accounting, and purchasing teams to gather pricing and lead time information for customer orders.
- Follow up with internal departments to ensure prompt responses to customer inquiries.
- Manage incoming questions and inquiries via phone, email, or teleconference, proactively communicating with customers regarding quote and order statuses while identifying their needs.
- Be available for overtime work as required.

Qualifications
- Prior experience in a Sales or Customer Service role is preferred.
- Experience in logistics and shipping is advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands outlined here represent those necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. The employee is frequently required to sit, walk, talk, and hear. Occasionally, the employee may need to climb, balance, stoop, lift, or move items weighing up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision for computer use, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception for driving, and the ability to adjust focus.
This role is not significantly exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
Personal Protective Equipment
The following PPE is mandatory while in the manufacturing area:
- Safety Glasses meeting ANSI Z87.1 standards or higher
- Steel Toe Safety Shoes in compliance with OSHA General Industry Standards 29 CFR 1910
- Hearing protection as per OSHA General Industry Standards 29 CFR 1910
