Position Summary: The Benefits Specialist plays a pivotal role in administering Elevanta's distinctive self-funded employee benefits program. This position operates within a collaborative team environment at our benefits service center, overseeing a multifaceted program. The Benefits Specialist will engage frequently with employer groups participating in the program and must have a solid understanding of employee benefits and relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily processing of benefit modifications
  • Coordinate the open enrollment process for the program
  • Administer COBRA compliance and procedures
  • Evaluate and suggest improvements to policies and procedures
  • Facilitate the onboarding of new groups into the program
  • Oversee data transfers with the ASO provider
  • Address and resolve claim discrepancies with the ASO provider
  • Prepare and distribute invoices to franchisee members, ensuring accuracy in enrollment changes and qualifying events
  • Investigate monthly billing discrepancies for members
  • Verify the accuracy of monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical records related to premiums, claims, and costs
  • Act as a direct liaison with franchisee members, addressing inquiries and resolving issues
  • Resolve administrative challenges with carrier representatives
  • Collaborate with HRIS providers to implement annual plan modifications
  • Maintain comprehensive records of history, data, correspondence, reports, and forms
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations regarding record keeping and retrieval methods
  • Stay informed on regulations related to the Affordable Care Act, COBRA, and the Department of Labor that may impact the program and its participants

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration or a related area

· Proficient in PC-based systems, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

· Excellent interpersonal abilities

· Strong understanding of company and departmental policies and procedures

Travel Requirements: Minimal travel is expected for this position.
