Financial Reporting Analyst

Position Summary
The Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the General Accounting Department by delivering precise and data-driven insights regarding the company's profitability, solvency, stability, and liquidity. This position involves conducting research and analyzing financial data to facilitate informed decision-making, preparing reports, and monitoring financial trends. Responsibilities will encompass management reporting, annual budgeting, forecasting, account analysis, and financial reporting for the firm's international operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Consolidate and analyze statistical and financial data, including budgets, revenue, and income statements, while considering the company's objectives and financial health.
- Develop financial models, perform benchmarking, and conduct process analyses.
- Compile and summarize data to create detailed reports on financial status and associated risks.
- Conduct business studies on historical, current, and comparative performance and develop forecasting models.
- Assist in preparing the operating budget, focusing on revenue and expense components.
- Monitor and assess financial status by comparing actual results with forecasts.
- Record fixed asset transactions in the accounting system, calculate depreciation, and reconcile subsidiary ledgers with the general ledger.
- Track expenditures for fixed assets against the capital budget and management approvals.
- Support the preparation of personal property tax returns.
- Prepare audit schedules related to fixed assets and assist auditors as needed.
- Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data discrepancies.
- Assist in compensation analysis, identifying variances, and ensuring payroll accuracy.
- Engage in cash management functions, gathering and analyzing data, and developing necessary reports and charts.
Proficiency in statistical analysis and processes, with strong skills in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, and financial software applications. Excellent presentation, reporting, and communication abilities are essential. A solid understanding of accounting principles and practices is required, along with advanced Excel skills. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and strong analytical skills to work with diverse financial data are critical.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Financial Analyst or in a similar capacity.
This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring regular in-office presence with some flexibility for remote work.
Physical Demands
This role primarily involves sedentary work, with occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force. Most tasks will be performed while seated, with walking and standing required only occasionally.
