ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The role involves overseeing financial reporting, program management, and budgetary control.
Collaborating with financial analysts and project management teams, you will ensure effective management of contract financial performance, including planning, tracking, and reporting.
Your responsibilities will include reconciling accounts receivable, compiling financial progress reports, supporting audit data requests, and assisting with month-end financial close processes.

Utilizing your knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and project control, you will ensure accurate collection of program costs by maintaining active charge numbers and monitoring actual charges.
Analyzing performance against established budgets and identifying variances will be key components of your role.

Additionally, you will monitor program revenue and profit recognition to mitigate risks and continuously assess revenue and profit opportunities.

FINANCIAL DUTIES
Your financial responsibilities will encompass preparing month-end revenue adjustments, reviewing hours and costs, establishing projects in the accounting system, and ensuring precise financial reporting.

Maintaining project tracking documentation and monitoring funding status will be crucial, providing timely updates on funding details.
You will prepare financial Contract Data Requirements (CDRL) for programs, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and accuracy in customer financial deliverables.

Furthermore, you will review and approve invoices for customer submission, monitor billing statuses, and resolve any issues promptly to manage Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).

EDUCATION/TRAINING
A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is preferred, although relevant experience may substitute for formal education.

EXPERIENCE
0 to 3 years of experience in project accounting support for service contracts is required.
Familiarity with government contracts and change order documents is advantageous.
Knowledge of Costpoint (Project Module) and Cognos is preferred.

SKILLS/ABILITIES
Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential for completing assigned tasks using applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
Critical Thinking: Ability to evaluate and interpret data to develop innovative solutions.
Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for interacting with diverse stakeholders.

Collaboration with team members and external clients is vital, along with a strong attention to detail in all tasks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position may involve working in an office or home office setting, with a hybrid work model based on business needs.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Successful completion of a pre-employment background screening is mandatory.

SALARY RANGE
$60K-$65K
