The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a committed Laboratory and Research Technician 1 to contribute to significant research initiatives. This position is focused on exploring the effects of neuroinflammation in various neurological conditions.
- Execute tasks similar to those of a Laboratory and Research Aide.
- Perform biological, chemical, hematological, or physical analyses as instructed.
- Assist in both research and clinical activities involving animal subjects.
- May conduct surgical interventions on small laboratory animals.
- Prepare necessary materials, assist with data evaluation, and compile reports.
- Utilize scientific instruments, manage supply orders, and oversee inventory.
- Accurately document experimental findings and remain informed about emerging laboratory techniques.
- Support research projects through various administrative responsibilities.
- Coordinate schedules, manage information intake, and monitor outcomes.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Experience: At least one year of laboratory experience is necessary; a Bachelor's degree may substitute for experience.
This position is classified as non-exempt and includes benefits. Background checks and a pre-employment health assessment are required.
