Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Specialist to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory research and assisting the Principal Investigator in lab management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct laboratory research and experiments, including data collection and analysis.
  • Assist the Principal Investigator in lab management, including planning and coordinating research projects.
  • Develop and implement new research methodologies and techniques.
  • Collaborate with other laboratory members to achieve research goals.
  • Supervise and train support personnel as needed.
  • Manage lab resources and equipment, including scheduling and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with lab safety protocols and regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as chemical engineering or biomedical engineering.
  • At least 6 years of experience in a laboratory technician role, with a strong background in research and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
