Key Responsibilities:

Primary Objective: Conduct thorough inspections, servicing, and maintenance of construction machinery to guarantee peak performance and dependability. This role demands exceptional mechanical aptitude, dexterity, and a sharp eye for detail. Proficiency in handling various tools and machinery while strictly following safety protocols is essential.

Specific Duties:

  • Evaluate, repair, and maintain construction machinery, including but not limited to: bobcats, Komatsu excavators, Link-Belt and Grove cranes, snorkel scissor lifts, boom lifts, and Case rubber-tired hoes.

Additional Tasks:

  • Travel to job sites or perform maintenance at the construction yard.
  • Assess equipment for optimal performance.
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
  • Adjust machinery and replace defective components.
  • Repair damaged parts of equipment.
  • Perform cleaning, lubrication, and routine maintenance services.
  • Service machine attachments.
  • Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to management.
  • Maintain detailed logs of work performed.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Knowledgeable in basic electrical systems, hydraulics, and engine mechanics.
  • Experience with trailer light repairs.
  • Familiarity with Honda small engines, generators, Stihl cutoff saws, and various small equipment.
  • Basic fabrication skills.
  • Dependable with a strong willingness to learn.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Must possess personal tools.

Qualifications:

  • Mechanic certifications are advantageous.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

This position involves both indoor and outdoor work, often in varying weather conditions. Candidates must be able to endure exposure to heat, cold, dust, moisture, ice, and mud. Physical capabilities include climbing and maintaining balance on ladders, reaching and manipulating objects, and lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly. Candidates should be able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for extended periods, with acceptable vision (either naturally or with correction).
