Heavy Equipment Technician

Maintains and repairs equipment, vehicles, and/or facilities used for carrying out operations.
Main Responsibilities- Adept at adopting the company's safety culture and actively supporting all safety initiatives.
- Supports, promotes, and practices the company's core values, vision, and mission; follows code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies.
- Utilizes diagnostic equipment, visual inspection, and other tools to diagnose faults or malfunctions to identify required repairs.
- Repairs and replaces damaged or worn parts.
- Dismantles and reassembles heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
- Operates and inspects machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.
- Tests mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
- Reads and understands operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings as vital to ensure proper operation of equipment.
- Installs new ignition systems, changes/charges batteries, and replaces transmissions and other parts.
- Examines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks and equipment, and makes adjustments.
- Cleans, lubricates, and performs other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
- High school graduate or GED.
- 3 or more years of experience as a diesel/heavy equipment mechanic preferred.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
- Basic computer skill, including ability to operate mobile device (phone, tablet, etc.) and related applications.
