About the role: Business Development Lead (Navy)

  • Develop and implement business acquisition strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Lead efforts to respond to Government Sources Soughts, Requests for Information, and other solicitations.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships, leveraging intimate knowledge of Naval customers.
  • Construct briefs to convey capabilities and competencies to potential customers.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and fold that knowledge into pursuit strategies.
  • Participate in and support networking opportunities within key Navy centers of business.
  • Present pursuit business cases during management reviews to facilitate decision making.
  • Analyze customer funding profiles to drive strategic objectives.
  • Utilize competitive intelligence and market data to understand competitors' strengths and weaknesses.
  • Populate BD tracking system with accurate and timely acquisition status.
  • Maintain close working relationships with corporate areas, including Engineering, Innovation, Contracts, Finance, and HR.

Key Requirements:

  • Customer Knowledge and Intimacy
  • Existing relationships with defense industry and military acquisition personnel.
  • Experience leading business development activities within the Naval arena.
  • Business Development Skills
  • Experience creating and supporting capture strategies and plans.
  • Competitive analysis experience.
  • Advanced experience authoring technically oriented business development deliverables.
  • Proposal development experience, including volume management and reviews.
  • Support business development pipeline management and metrics.
  • Networking and Relationships
  • Ability to forge teams, partnerships, and alliances to win acquisitions.
  • 10-15 years industry experience as a recognized business development team member.
  • Excellent leadership behaviors.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration and/or a technical field.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain at least a Secret security clearance.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite.
