Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Kitchen Staff Member role is an entry-level position that requires the ability to operate at least one of three designated stations within the kitchen. Dependability and a desire to learn are essential attributes for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and organize the kitchen area
  • Restock supplies and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen
  • Assist in the production of food items at the assigned station
  • Utilize relevant kitchen equipment and tools effectively
  • Perform breakdown and cleanup tasks in the kitchen
  • Wash dishes, pots, and pans used in food preparation
  • Plate food items according to specifications
  • Adhere to departmental policies and procedures
  • Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Sanitize cleaning tools such as mops and brooms at the end of the shift
  • Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor when interacting with guests and colleagues
  • Support other departments as necessary to ensure excellent service
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Understanding of proper cleaning and sanitation methods
  • Ability to follow recipes and culinary instructions
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Serve Safe Employee Certification is preferred or to be obtained within the first three months
  • Experience in food and beverage service is preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Capability to climb stairs
  • Ability to navigate kitchen and public service areas
  • Ability to twist, bend, reach, and pull
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds
