Kitchen Instructor

At the YMCA of Virginia's Blue Ridge, we're seeking a skilled Kitchen Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality cooking lessons and events that showcase the best of our garden-to-table philosophy.

• Develop and implement engaging cooking lessons for youth and adults, utilizing our garden as a resource.
• Plan and execute cooking events in our kitchen, highlighting the freshest ingredients from our garden.
• Collaborate with a pool of kitchen volunteers to ensure seamless execution of events.
• Purchase food and kitchen items within our budget, ensuring the highest quality for our programs.
• Build relationships with external organizations to explore partnership opportunities.
• Support marketing efforts for our programs, showcasing the impact of our kitchen initiatives.

• 2+ years of experience in cooking or kitchen management, with a degree or certification in culinary arts preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse groups.
• Ability to plan, develop, and manage tasks, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines.
