Motor Transport Operator

As a Motor Transport Operator with the U.S. Army, you will play a critical role in the transportation of personnel and cargo. Your responsibilities will include operating and maintaining various types of vehicles, managing loads and ensuring the safety of personnel, and overseeing the loading and unloading of cargo.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate and maintain all-wheel vehicles and equipment over varied terrain and roadways.
- Manage the loading and unloading of personnel and cargo, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Oversee the loading and unloading of cargo on vehicles and trailers, ensuring proper procedures are followed.
- Employ convoy defense techniques to ensure the safe transportation of personnel and cargo.
- Identify and report any vehicle deficiencies or issues.
- Prepare vehicles for movement or shipment by air, rail, or vessel.
- Be between the ages of 17 and 35.
- Be a Permanent Resident or U.S. Citizen.
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
- Score 85 or higher on the Operators & Food (OF) section of the ASVAB.
As a Motor Transport Operator, you will receive 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 7 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. This training will cover the operation and maintenance of various vehicles, as well as convoy defense techniques and other essential skills.
