Motor Transport Specialist

As a Motor Transport Operator with the U.S. Army, you will be responsible for supervising or operating wheel vehicles to transport personnel and cargo. This critical role plays a vital part in the Army's support and sustainment structure, providing advanced mobility on and off the battlefield.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate all-wheel vehicles and equipment over varied terrain and roadways.
- Manage the loading, unloading, and safety of personnel being transported.
- Oversee and check the proper loading and unloading of cargo on vehicles and trailers.
- Employ convoy defense techniques to ensure the safe transportation of personnel and cargo.
- Identify, correct, or report all vehicle deficiencies to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
- Prepare vehicles for movement/shipment by air, rail, or vessel.
- Be between the ages of 17– 40.
- Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
- Submit to background and medical screening.
- Receive a passing score on the ASVAB.
Job training for a Motor Transport Operator requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and seven weeks of Advanced Individual Training. This comprehensive training program includes both classroom instruction and hands-on training in actual vehicles and field environments.
