Job Summary

TransForce is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Operator II to join our team. As a Heavy Equipment Operator II, you will be responsible for operating, adjusting, servicing, and repairing heavy equipment used to support various construction and maintenance projects. You will also be responsible for maintaining and repairing chainsaws, landscaping implements, welding units, and general construction equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, adjust, service, and repair heavy equipment used to support various construction and maintenance projects.
  • Maintain and repair chainsaws, landscaping implements, welding units, and general construction equipment.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of public access improvements.
  • Conduct habitat management activities, including the use of specialized mechanical equipment for clearing and cutting dense vegetation.
  • Grade roads, parking lots, and paths with minimal supervision.
  • Perform tasks with mechanical aptitude.
  • Understand and follow instructions.
  • Prepare and keep simple records and make reports.
Requirements
  • Completion of 2 years of high school, including or supplemented by courses in mechanics and vehicle repair.
  • Employment for at least two years in a position requiring the operation, repair, and maintenance of heavy diesel and gasoline motor equipment and trucks dealing with various phases of construction and maintenance functions.
  • At the time of appointment, must be physically qualified to perform assigned duties as evidenced by a physician's certificate.
  • Must possess and maintain a CDL Class A Driver's License and a valid Rhode Island Hoisting Engineers License for pay loader, backhoe, and excavating equipment.
