About the Role

Oaktree Capital Management is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Benefits Manager to oversee the design and administration of our U.S. benefits strategy. This role will play a critical part in attracting, engaging, and retaining top talent.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and administer healthcare, wellness, and retirement offerings that align with our company's strategic goals.
  • Stay up-to-date on federal, state, and local legal requirements and ensure compliance.
  • Manage relationships with benefit vendors, trustees, and administrative service providers.
  • Lead contract negotiations to ensure the benefits strategy aligns with overall company-wide strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communication and onboarding strategy for all benefit and wellness programs.
  • Create and/or maintain benefit policies, procedures, and program materials.
  • Own the U.S. benefits budget and monitor expenses.
  • Lead and support the Benefits team member in daily operations.
  • Serve as escalation point in responding to daily benefits questions and claims issues.
  • Collaborate with the Workday Technical team to ensure effective integrations with U.S. health and welfare vendors.
  • Oversee the wellness program plan design and initiatives.
  • Oversee the annual 401(k) audit, non-discrimination testing, and completion of all applicable tax filings.
  • Support firmwide Diversity & Inclusion efforts by ensuring equitable offerings.
Requirements
  • Minimum seven years' experience in Human Resources, with experience in Benefits and preferably within a financial services firm.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage tasks with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information and situations with professionalism and tact.

Education

Bachelor's degree is required.

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is $130,000 - $150,000. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives, a comprehensive benefits package, and a flexible work arrangement.
